The Surrealist Banquet – A Table for Dalí
For this dinner in Figueres, we dreamed up a surrealist banquet inspired by Salvador Dalí’s playful decadence. The long wooden table stretched through the courtyard, glowing in candlelight and framed by the warm texture of ancient stone walls.
Down the center, porcelain animals and gilded lobsters collected from local antique shops mingled with vibrant blooms and hands rising from candlesticks, each one holding flickering tapers. Between them, baguettes transformed into candleholders, dripping with wax — a nod to Dalí’s fascination with the absurd.
Candelabras anchored each end, creating a luminous rhythm along the table, while satin drapes cascaded between floral bursts of coral, fuchsia, and gold. Every detail was a deliberate blend of humor and elegance — a feast suspended somewhere between art and dream, exactly as Dalí would have imagined it.
